Purpose of the Tool
Problem It Solves: The team check-in is broken. It's old and tired and doesn't create connections with team members or help individuals really express what's happening for them. In a busy work week, teams might not stop to reflect on how they're doing, especially emotionally. This guide creates a space for that reflection in a way that you or your people won't have experienced before.
How the Guide Works
This can the used as an individual activity. Or it could be used as a coaching tool between two people. Or you can hack the activity and use it to guide a structured team check-in activity. You can use this to guide a quick 10-minute check-in. Or use it to guide a deeper and longer 30 or 60-minute check-in.
There are six structured steps in total that you follow in order. Helping individuals to explore their recent experiences. They choose the ECD emotion cards to represent their desired and undesired feelings from the past week (or another time frame you choose), share stories behind their choices, and decide on actions to support or manage these feelings moving forward.
