I have been trying to get the language of emotion into change conversations for a long time. This brilliantly simple, but not simplistic, tool has given me exactly what I need in my work to make that conversation easier for leaders and teams. Although I am concerned about 'choosing' emotions for clients by only providing them with the ECD (there are 'other' cards in there though) and the labelling of emotions as desirable and undesirable, I won't know if this raises problems for clients until I try it out... what this space.

It really felt like I was wasting much of my time.
People were often not prepared, had little of relevance to say and it felt a bit like an old-fashioned Women's coffee morning'.

It gave me a very clear framework for managing the emotional side of change-which is to say most of it, and also something that’s so often ignored. I loved the flexibility and creativity the tools and how you can adapt them to fit different situations, and it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The activities and examples made it really easy for me to see how I can actually use this in real life. The focus on both the positive AND the challenging emotions really stood out to me as i always found white card emotions to be something to manage (i was brought up with a "get over it" mentality) and learning to use them as teachers was incredible. A truly great course for anyone wanting to approach change in a more human and thoughtful way.
